QuantiTea Duck Shit Fragrance Oolong Tea

Supplements & HealthTim featured this 2× · 2018–2019 · Jason Nemer · quantitea.com

QuantiTea Duck Shit Fragrance Oolong Tea. This excellent tea was recommended to me by Jason Nemer (@jasonnemer), the co-creator of AcroYoga (interview here). Here’s the description from the website: “Duckshit Fragrance (Ya Shi Xiang) tea received its distinctive name from the original farmer whose intention was to hide the success of the tea from fellow farmers. Tea plants can be cloned by taking clippings and nurtured to mature tea trees. Duck shit Fragrance is a style of wulong [also written ‘oolong’] from the yashixiang cultivar (dancong 单枞) tea trees that grow in the Phoenix Mountains. Dan— Tim Ferriss

It would appear that I have presbyopia—text on my phone, small fonts on supplement bottles, etc.

Supplements & HealthTim featured this 1× · 2025 · instagram.com

It would appear that I have presbyopia—text on my phone, small fonts on supplement bottles, etc. are getting blurry. I asked all of you on X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn whether you have found any treatments (exercises, eye drops like pilocarpine, surgeries, others) to be worth the investment and risk profile. Thank you to everyone who offered tips! There are a few overlapping recommendations in the responses and in the reading that one specialist sent me: “The Present and Future of Mitochondrial-Based Therapeutics for Eye Disease.”— Tim Ferriss

Croton lechleri

Supplements & HealthTim featured this 1× · 2024 · en.wikipedia.org

Croton lechleri. From Wikipedia: Croton lechleri is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae, that is native to northwestern South America. It is commonly known as sangre de grado (Peruvian Spanish), sangre de drago (Ecuadorian Spanish) or sangre de grada (Bolivian Spanish). They refer to this tree’s (and several related species’) thick red latex. The latex has medicinal properties and is used by local peoples as a liquid bandage applied to seal wounds, as it dries quickly to form a protective skin-like barrier. Its use by Native people has led to scientific study and o— Tim Ferriss

Classic Norwegian Roasted Salmon from Changing Seas. These days, I’m doing endurance training in the morning for 3–4 hours, and I like quick turnaround meals. For protein, I’m alternating between these ready-to-eat salmon filets and three sticks of Maui Nui wild-harvested venison.— Tim Ferriss

Antidepressant and Psychedelic Drug Interaction Chart. I found this while digging around on Google, and I sent it to several psychiatrists and doctors I know, as I’d never seen all of these combinations presented in one easy-to-read chart. Extremely important disclaimer: “This chart is not intended to be used to make medical decisions and is for informational purposes only. It was constructed using data whenever possible, although extrapolation from known information was also used to inform risk. Supporting MAPS via Every.org. MDMA-assisted psychotherapy holds incredible promise for not only treating patients—including many veterans, first-responders, and victims of sexual abuse—with treatment-resistant PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) but curing them of PTSD altogether. PTSD is notoriously difficult to treat, but early trials with MDMA-assisted psychotherapy showed that with just 2–3 sessions, 67% of participants were no longer diagnosable with PTSD 12 months later. This is all the more impressive when you consider that many of the patients had suffered for 15+ years beforehand. — Tim Ferriss

Johns Hopkins is seeking roughly 20 patients for the first-ever Alzheimer’s study using psilocybin as an intervention

Supplements & HealthTim featured this 1× · 2020 · hopkinspsychedelic.org

Johns Hopkins is seeking roughly 20 patients for the first-ever Alzheimer’s study using psilocybin as an intervention. Both sides of my family have suffered from Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and this study is one of the reasons I committed more than $2MM to the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research. Dr. Albert Garcia-Romeu and team will be investigating psilocybin’s effects on AD-related depression, as well as memory and cognitive function. I’m bullish. For the study, people in the mid-Atlantic area near Baltimore/DC are ideal, but people willing to travel will also be c— Tim Ferriss

Measuring the effects of acetyl-L-carnitine on various aspects of cognitive performance.

Supplements & HealthTim featured this 1× · 2019 · el2.convertkit-mail2.com

Measuring the effects of acetyl-L-carnitine on various aspects of cognitive performance. Alas, after multiple consecutive nights of vivid nightmares (which I rarely have), I wondered if ALC might play a role. I only experienced this when taking ALC in the later afternoon or evening, and daily total consumption never exceeded 1,500mg. After finding a few reports like this, I decided to call it quits with my protocol. Thus far, I have found ALC to produce unpleasantly vivid dreams to a much greater extent than, say, galantamine or huperzine-A, which enhance vividness but don’t seem to create the— Tim Ferriss

doTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil Beadlets 125 ct. These are odd but fantastic. Think of them as sugar- and sweetener-free Altoids with the mouthfeel of peppermint caviar balls. The first tube was gifted to me by a friend in Salt Lake City, and I’ve since bought many more. I have no affiliation with the company, which is based in Utah and appears to have had some interesting run-ins with government agencies.— Tim Ferriss

Oil of oregano (formats: capsules

Oil of oregano (formats: capsules, liquid dropper). I was introduced to oregano oil by a world record holder in powerlifting years ago. In my n-of-1 experience, it appears to help shorten cold-like symptoms. I’m not aware of any published studies that support this application, and it could be simple regression to the mean, but there are some interesting papers on carvacrol. Here is one thing beyond debate: you should NOT get the oil in your eyes — watch your hands — or take 2-3x the recommended number of drops. The burn is like salt on a wound.— Tim Ferriss

Charlotte’s Web “hemp extract” (CBD oil) capsules. Cannabis has never been the plant for me. I don’t use sleep aids on a daily basis, but this has become part of my toolkit, and I’ll be exploring other applications.— Tim Ferriss

KetoBlitz by KetoSports. Designed by infamous biochemist Patrick Arnold (our convo here), this new exogenous ketone blend has really impressed me. Measuring blood concentrations of BHB (a ketone indicator) with the Precision Xtra, I jumped from 0.3 mmol to over 2 mmol within 60 minutes and -- most impressive -- appeared to stay elevated (~1.5 mmol) for hours. It appears to dramatically improve my cognitive function and aerobic exercise capacity. Speak to your medical professional before using; it’s strong stuff.— Tim Ferriss

Peppermint Halo from Saje

Peppermint Halo from Saje -- This was introduced to me at the TED conference in Vancouver, BC. It’s a non-synthetic blend of peppermint, cajeput, lavender, vetiver, eucalyptus, and rosemary oils. Its intended use is as a roll-on application around the hairline for countering headaches (for which it appears to work), but I ended up finding it most useful -- when applied around the neck and shoulders -- for decreasing tension from excessive sitting or caffeine consumption.— Tim Ferriss
